Q. How long will my project take?
A. Our turnaround is 2-3 business days on most projects. We also have same day, and express services.
Q. What about service on weekends or after hours?
A. No problem. If you’re calling after our regular business hours, you will hear a message on how to contact us.
Q. Can you record the audio portion of a video cassette and put it onto an audio cassette?
A. Yes. Just call for details and price information.
Q. Can the audio portion of a video tape be enhanced?
A. Yes, we can often remove or reduce background hum, equalize and sweeten the tracks, and raise overall volume.
Q. What about photos from video; is that possible?
A. Yes. We can make prints from any video or film.
Q. Can you provide those prints as computer files?
A. Yes.
Q. Can you slow down or speed up video?
A. Yes.
Q .We have a dark videotape. Can it be lightened up?
A. Yes, usually with pleasing results.
Q. Can you zoom in on a particular video frame?
A. Yes.
Q. Can I use any video for this project?
A. Yes, any video can be used, be sure to pick out good clear shots.
Q. Can you put our program on DVD?
A. Absolutely! We can simply transfer your final video to DVD or we can provide you with a custom DVD interface complete with menus, chapter points, etc. Just call us for a custom quote on DVDs.
Q. How long will my editing project take?
A. It’s a good question and one that we certainly take seriously. Editing can become very tedious and time-consuming. It is common for clients to believe that their project is simple and won’t take that long. In reality, editing usually takes longer than customers think. It is our goal, to complete your project in the shortest time possible, while providing the highest possible quality. Feel free to call us for an estimate of your project.
Q. Do we have to be there for our edit session?
A. Not necessarily. Many of our clients are able to drop off their projects and provide us with detailed directions so we can edit their video for them. This can really be a time saver for you. You can go about your business while we are editing your project. When completed you simply come back for a viewing and approval or we can send you an approval tape.
Q. What if we’re not sure what we want in our project? Can we just provide you with materials and let you design and create our video?
A. Sure! Just bring your project to us — your information, videos, photos, ideas, etc. — and we’ll supply the creativity.
Q. What about special effects?
A. We can do just about whatever you want — effects, dissolves, wipes, titles, slow and fast motion, split screens, etc. Just describe what you want to create.
Q. Can we have music or a voiceover added to our tape?
A. Sure. Just give us a call for more details.
Q. Do you edit on a computer? And what is non-linear editing?
A. We use a computer and it is a non-linear editing system. Non-linear editing allows us to directly access frames in video source material and cut and paste similar to word processing. It saves time and we can include special effects not possible in linear editing. It means better quality and value for Croom customers.
Q. Is it digital?
A. Yes. Our whole system is digital. We take your tape and convert it from analog to digital. From that point on there is no loss of quality. Our final product looks as good as the original video.
Q. What if I just need simple editing like two tapes to one or perhaps just cutting out some piece of video or audio?
A. That is no problem. We consider these types of projects to be much simpler and less complex, so we can usually give you a firm price at the beginning.
